and, if you can afford it, getting the best is a way of saying that you’re someone who deserves it. Furthermore, getting a big yacht with a disco, bar, entertainment center and whatever else you want is a way of taking a fun lifestyle out onto the waters with you. When you go about purchasing a yacht the right way – part of which is keeping your lifestyle in mind – it can be an enjoyable experience. As Murray Lord (2007) puts it, “I sell fun; buying a yacht should be fun. If it’s not fun, you’re doing something wrong.”

Customized Yachts v. Pre-Made Yachts
Customized Yachts: Create Your Own boat
Customized yachts are wonderful for one simple but important reason: it’s your boat all the way. Michael DiCondina (2007) points out that a custom purchase allows buyers to work with interior designers, engineers and sales reps to build the ideal boat; it is a little like being a kid at Christmas. A customized boat can be big or small, extravagant or austere – whatever you want it to be. Everything, from the motors to the plumbing to the type of hull, is yours to create.
Customized Yachts: things can get pricey
“yachting is like standing in a cold shower fully clothed while pushing hundred-dollar bills down the drain with your toes” (Santelmann, 2005)

For starters, two of the best places out there to look at custom yachts are Hargrave Custom Yachts (2007) in Fort Lauderdale and American Custom Yachts (2007) in Stuart, Florida.
Pre-Made Yachts: Price sometimes is everything
Unfortunately, not all of us are filthy rich. As mentioned above, purchasing a custom-built yacht is an expensive venture. Consequently, pre-made yachts can be just the thing for the first-time buyer who wants to step out without breaking the bank. Jack Cayre (2007) of Reel Deal Yachts has some
